Southlake
Steep is a staging problem before it is a roofing one
Southlake built large and it built steep. A roof you cannot walk without staging is a different job from one you can: slower, safer, more people, and more setup before a single shingle moves. It is the single biggest reason two quotes on the same house come back thousands apart, and the reason a carrier's scope without a steep charge on it is short before anybody argues about materials.
The long valleys that come with those pitches carry a lot of water into a small number of places. Valleys and the flashing where a roof meets a wall are where these roofs actually fail, not out in the field.
Same Standard Everywhere
The free inspection is the same in Southlake as it is anywhere else we work.
Hail scopes here get argued slope by slope
A big multi-plane roof gives an adjuster a lot of slopes to test, and it is common to see two of them paid and the rest refused. Whether that is right depends on the direction the storm came from and how each slope was exposed, and it is arguable either way.
What settles it is evidence: the test-square results, photographs of every slope rather than the two that were paid, and soft metal that either is or is not dimpled. Having somebody on the roof with the adjuster shortens that conversation considerably.
Ventilation is the thing nobody quotes
A big steep roof over a big attic needs intake as well as exhaust, and on a lot of these houses the soffit venting was blocked by insulation years ago. A ridge vent pulling air out of the house instead of the soffits is a slow, expensive problem that nobody notices until the decking shows it.
It is cheap to correct while the roof is off and expensive to do afterwards, which is why it is worth asking about before you sign anything.

Roofing contractor in Southlake, answered
Do you need staging on my roof?
If it cannot be walked safely, yes, and it should be in the quote rather than added later.
Why did insurance only pay for part of my roof?
Because the adjuster tested each slope separately and only some met the threshold. It is arguable, and the argument needs the test-square numbers.
Will you check the ventilation?
It gets checked at the inspection, along with the attic side of the decking wherever it can be reached.
